What does a good resume look like?
Resumes are skimmed and scanned extremely quickly so they should be easy to look at, choice of words is crucial. Remember to include your personal information including full name, email, and website URL. Include a summary statement and make it about what you bring to the table. List your highest level of education, this can be a high school, or bachelor's degree, or even a PhD. Be sure to add your past experiences to show the employer what you're capable of, use strong action verbs to describe the responsibilities that you had at your past job, and be specific about accomplishments, everything should be clear. Employers always like to see the hard and soft skills you listed on your resume. Hard skills are stuff like knowing a programming language, and languages that are spoken. Soft skills are things like communication, teamwork, etc. Certifications are always important whether it's licenses or certifications. If you want to let you know that your employer that you are a good hire, writing references can be social proof that you're experienced.

- Look for keywords in the job posting like requirements and qualifications these are extremely important.
- Review other people's examples from your industry, this can be helpful to see anything you missed.
- Use a professional font, and reduce white space.
- Include only relevant information, and keep it brief.
- Use active language, for example, I ran multiple team projects for this company, etc.
- Emphasize important achievements
- Only include subheadings and sections that you need
- Choose appropriate margins, one inch margin is recommended with 1.15 or 1.5.
- Proofread, you might have missed something
- Make multiple versions of your resume - ask yourself does the employer see that I am qualified.
